by the Government of India as deemed University.
The origin of Banasthali is unique having arisen like the fabled phoenix
from the ashes of a blossoming flower which had withered before its hour.
In 1935 Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Shastri founded the university
to fill up the vacuum caused by the sudden death of their highly talented
and promising child. In 1983 the Government of India, on the advice of
the University Grants Commission, notified it as deemed University.
Academic Programmes:
Academic Programmes of the University are run by different faculties.
While the under graduate programmes cut across faculties the post graduate
programmes are taken care of by the respective faculty.

Around 4800 students from all the states of India and from some foreign

university.
Research has been a component of the Universityís
higher education. Over the past ten years, the research efforts have
expanded to include
sponsored research and consultancy projects in various disciplines.
Ph.D. students are working in areas such as Communication Networks,
Design
and Analysis of Graph Algorithms, Neural Networks, Natural Language
Processing, Image Processing and Educational Computing. Dr. Aditya
Shastri has been
awarded Marie Curie Fellowship by the CEC.

Admissions against these seats are based directly upon the merit and
applicants do not appear in the entrance examinations.
Eligibility :
40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

(ii) Copies of the passport and Visa of the applicant/guardian.
